SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The workshops attached to this Institute and its Extension Centre Balsahyog(BEC), Connaught Circus, New Delhi provide skill Development Training of 6 months duration and 3 months duration in different trades viz. Machine shop practice, Tool & Die Making, ceramics, Lens Grinding & Polishing, Electroplating and Powder Coating and Heat Treatment, BEC also provides Skill Development Training in Trades such as General mechanic, Carpentry, Tailoring, Sheet metal, Book binding, Electronics, Canning & Scooter repairing to the delinquent children sponsored by Balsahyog Home as well as beneficiaries of PMRY. The training to children sponsored through Balsahyog Home are provided free of cost.

Tool Room and machine shop
Provide training in preparation of intricate dies, tools, jigs and fixtures on CNC, Jig boring, profile grinder, cylindrical grinder etc.

Lens Grinding and Polishing
The only training centre in the country equipped with modern machines for providing training for the grinding & polishing of ophthalmic and optical lenses. These machines include diamond cure generator, hardening furnace, automatic cylindrical polisher machines etc.

Ceramics
Provide training in decoration of plain tiles, porcelain parts & developmental work on studio art pottery.

Electroplating, metal finishing and powder coating
Facilities for techniques of Pollution Control on nickel, chromium, zinc, copper, silver, gold plating and anodizing. Training and job work is also available on powder coating.
