“ Small Enterprise Information Resource Centre Network (SENET)” was launched by the office of the DC(MSME) in April 1997.The Scheme was modified and its scope enlarged to include office automation. The SFC approved the modified scheme in March 2000.The SENET Scheme has also been approved for continuation during the XI-Plan (2007-2012).
The main objectives of the scheme are to :-
i). Pioneer, create and promote data bases and information, to facilitate networking amongst the MSME sector, National and State level industry associations, NGOs, to carry out office automation in the office of the DC(MSME) for bringing out transparence in the functioning the office ; and
ii). Creation and maintenance of web site of HQ, N.Delhi and 30 MSME DIs located all over India.
